For sale 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS Hardtop. I have owned this car since my father bought it new in September 1962 and have clear title in my possession. Car had been an everyday driver until 1992 when my dad and I garaged it and began a full restoration. The engine was overhauled, Posi rear end installed but my dad passed away before we could finish the project. Car was in storage from 1995 to 2010, when a full restoration was begun. Spent over 50K to bring this Impala back to life. Extreme care was done to restoring to original stock condition. Interior was refreshed with new seat covers, door panels, carpet, headliners, rear fender skirts, dual rear speakers including satellite radio hidden in glove box (still has original working AM transistor radio). Exterior was stripped to remove rust, then repainted to original Nassau blue but two toned with white top. All metal is original except for the left rear quarter panel. Powered with original 327/250hp V-8, power steering, power brakes, original 2 speed Power Glide transmission (has small leak, will probably need some work or be replaced). Car runs great, has headers to compliment the dual exhaust replacing the original exhaust manifolds. This Impala has no rust and is garaged. It has less than 250 miles since restored 2 years ago. The frame is excellent, lines are straight. The engine block is stamped T1016S. Based on this code and verification from several sources, this is a (1) 8cyl, 327/250hp, Powerglide, 4bc and (2) 1962 327 Powerglide transmission, full-size car and (3) T-Tonawanda Plant, Built on October 16. The car was originally equipped with exhaust manifolds. In 1992, they were replaced with header pipes and dual exhaust. This change was prior to the restoration in 2010 at which time no major work, other than new plugs, oil, belts, etc. was done to the engine. Regarding the headers, the car came with exhaust manifolds and valve covers identified as 327 Turbo Fire.
